Like the Buttonhole Bar, this stitch is used
to anchor large cut areas in Cutwork Embroidery. The stitch
will look like a "Y", with only the three points of the "Y"
attached to the fabric.
First, start a normal Buttonhole Bar between two points.
Stitch halfway with the Buttonhole Stitch, without piercing
the fabric, until you get to the branching point (step 1).
Take a tiny bite of the fabric at the third point of the "Y"
(step 2). Wrap the needle around the original bar (step 3).
Take a second tiny bite of the fabric (step 4). Work Buttonhole
Stitches around the branching bar, without piercing the fabric
(step 5). When you get back to the branching point, continue
in wrapping the original bar with the Buttonhole Stitch (step
6). The branch wil pull at the original bar a little, so that
the resulting stitch will look like a "Y".
